The good life...

I finished work @ 7am on Saturday morning. My plan was to have a sleep then try to get Barara sorry Donna down t'lottie for a mamoth weeding session. Well you know what I'm like sleeping at 8 I was up and grumpy because I couldn't sleep. Flask filled and off me and the doggie went leaving Donna in bed.
In my last two sessions down lottie I've pulled out around 10 wheelbarrow loads of weeds. My compost bins and groaning at the sides there's so much stuffed into them.
Donna rang me when she got up and offered more coffee so soon as she got there we stopped for a break.
I got Barbara onto strawberry and goosebeery picking then it was the potato digging session for her. We packed up around 12 after I got the hose pipe out for a much needed soaking.

We had loads of things we could of done this weekend including a trip to the Royal Oak for a punk night but in the end we couldn't be bothered. We were going to just have a lazy evening in until Tink and Andi rang to tell us they were on their way to the gig. A quick change of plan and clothes and we ended up having a nice couple of hours in The Fat Cat.

TOday we were going to go and have a few drinks while watching a steel band but again after doing the shopping we couldn't be bothered. We had a little lunch then I slept on the sofa for an hour and a half.
We might get our selves sorted and take the doggie for a run later and seen as the Dove is almost on the parks doorstep we might just have to have a quick one.

Lazy weekends we all need them once in a while. Better not let Donna read this she's been busy cooking courgette cake and cleaning while I've been lazing about.

Well done Sam...

Yesterday I got a text from Sam telling me that she'd officially finished Nvq level 2 and is just waiting on her certificates.
It's such a pleasure to see Sam doing a job she enjoys and wants to succeed in.
Keep working hard daughter. Xxx

Happy campers

Happy campers, originally uploaded by Crash n Donna.

Another busy weekend.
Friday we went for our annual trip to Norfolk with the ex BT gang. £13.50 for a rover ticket and off we go on the train.
We met the Norwich part fo the gang at the station then changed for Sherringham. Beer beer and chips and chilli relish and a game of cricket on the beach. A very enjoyable day indeed.

Saturday we got away at a reasonable time with no seats in the back of the van. We replaced the seats with a blow up bed and hung pirate flags over the windows for curtains. A fridge full of beer and a cage full of little dog and off we set for the short trip to Stonham Barns. At first we weren't allowed to go and park our van next to Ann and Johns vintage campers. Pre booked campers only. So we bought our wristbands and Ann showed us the way to their camp. We thought we'll just nip back to the car park and grab a few more things. Bugger walking back I said after I'd seen a coule of cars heading towards the campsite through a gap in the fence. I thought we might of been rumbled when someone with a hi viz jacket stopped us on our way but he only wanted to tell us to stop at the next hi viz jacket and get directions of where to park.
It was a really well organised rally with clean toilets all weekend and the sun cracked the flags. We had to use loads of factor 50 on the tattoos.
We think this rally will be added to the list of weekends away for next year. I think they could do with better bands next time and then it'll be faultless.

Isn’t it great when …

your kids make parenting so easy.

George was in trouble at school a couple of terms ago, he was messing about in class and distracting his classmates. After some words between him, us and his head of year, he had his behaviour monitored for a few weeks, by the head of year and by us.

This term he has the best report ever; comments like, “He’s a pleasure to teach”, “He’s a role model for his classmates”. He also has fantastic grades for effort and achievement. What a star!! :) :)
