Party Hearty ...
We partied too hard!! We were supposed to be off on another scooter rally this weekend, but it took us the best part of the week to get over the last one (us? old? how dare you!). It was a great weekend and twas great to see our lovely friend Miss Fi enjoying herself proper. There were a few too many rules for my liking - since when did scooter rallies observe rules? but by the same token I wouldn't want the responsibility and effort of organsing one, so I guess I shouldn't be too hard on the organisers. I was disappointed that our friends were prohibited from doing a nekkid scooter ride in honour of our good and very much missed friend, Dodge, I felt that was a crying shame. I could've seen the big fella having a good chuckle at that one!!
In other news, I've booked for laser eye surgery .... yay!! So next week I'm having my eyes chopped open and zapped all so I can wear sunglasses instead of funky prescription glasses. But in all seriousness, I think it will be liberating to walk into a pub without steaming up, watch porn in bed without glasses ... all those important things in life eh?
Instead of taking it completely easily this weekend, I think I've managed to convince my partner in crime to go with me to Music on the Green in Martlesham and meet up with Julie for some drinking and squirty cream fun :)
Finally .... HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE DOGGY!!!! our lovely little Border, Dita, is one today. She's an absolute dream, better than I could have ever imagined a little dog could be. We <3 you Dita :D :D

World speed record achieved Ipswich to Larling...
I said before I set off that I'd regret saying I'd ride with Yorkie to Ronnie Biggs scooter rally "Boogie if your bored 2008" Well I didn't it made the ride so much more fun... And it only took us 2 hours 15 to do the 39 miles door to door. When I pulled into the petrol station we'd planned to meet at I was surprised to see Yorkie and Lewie already there, and they'd filled up! I topped my tank up and we had a quick smoke before setting off. Now Friday was bloody boiling and I had my motorbike gear on. Black and thick. It's great when you're moving but a tad on the warm side when stopped in the blazing sun... I got all zipped up and kicked my scooter into life... Yorkie kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked and Lewie pushed him across the forcourt trying to bump start it, Yorkie kicked and kicked and kicked and pushed it down a ramp trying to bump start it, Yorkie had the panels off and changed the spark plug and kicked and kicked and kicked and then I had a go at pushing him. At last life was back in the old girl. Dressed again and off we went. Lambretta's are beautiful things but most don't like getting thrashed so we decided to take the back road. When we met up with the A14 again we'd gone too far so we had to take a slight detour, that's when the panels were off again! This time only the HT cap had come off so another quick smoke and off we set. I'd told Lewie to put his hand up if they broke down again.. We'd only got a few yards when his hand came up... He's just like his Dad. He was taking the piss. As we got near to pubs Yorkie was very close to pulling in for the first beer but we'd only got 10 miles so I made him carry on. Next stop was just past Diss, at least we'd got into the next county. While we had a beer and let his piston cool down he had the panels off again to check on his earlier repair job. I started to think he should of left the panels at home to save us time. Beer finished and another part of our life stories told to each other we were off... Non stop to the rally. We made it!
We had taken the tents up the night before so all we had to do when we got there was crack open a tinnie. That beer fridge was one of the best things we've ever bought. Ice cold beer on a hot day....Mmmmmm. Donna arrived after she'd picked Dyl up from school and the evening carried on as the afternoon with plenty of cold beer, music, chat and sillyness. Bedtime was some time after midnight. I woke up around 7.30ish with a rumbeling coming from my belly. Bacon rolls and lashings of tea later when I thought it's time to go to the loo.... All I'll say is a little while later we were off to Tesco to get something to sort my guts out! It was either one of the two pints I bought from the bar or the pot noodle that didn't agree with me. I'm sure the numerous cans of beer were fine.
In the afternoon Donna and Dyl joined in with some of the games. Dyl tried to enter everything, even the adult games. He's definatly a scooterboy in the making. Flying saucer eating competitions and liquorice lace eating comps out of the way it was then time for the custard show. Well that's what Dyl thought it was called. I entered the pink beast agian and yet again I was robbed. Somebody that had spent his life savings on his custom Lambretta got best in show. Never mind there's always next time. We didn't even win anything in the raffle.
Saturday night had a few DJ's and a band. One of our internet/scooter buddies from Lowestoft had paid £40 to do an hours dj'ing the money going to a MS charity. Jason was crapping himself about going on. I suggested to Wayne (the organiser) that soon as Jay came on the stage everybody run away but he thought I was mean... Me! Rhona played the best set of the night with her mix of cheesey tunes. YMCA and ABBA aren't played enough on scooter rallies. Bed was before midnight but after gaffa tape and toe sucking had been involved in the festivities, see the photos on our Flickr. I'd actually managed a whole day and night on a rally without a beer!
I woke around 7ish with Yorkie and Lewie packing up very quietly next to us, he had said that he'd be off early. I showered around 8 this is the only rally we've done that you actually have to turn the temp down on the shower. Normally it's blinkin freezing. We did the usual and made tea and bacon butties for our mates then packed up and said our goodbyes. I think I made it home in around an hour. Vespa 1 Lambretta 0
Cheers Yorkie for helping make our rally a good un. It was fun. And mini Yorkie is a good little lad just a shame he was stopped from riding our scooters round the field.

Ebay rewriting history...

I know why they did it but boy I was that pissed off all my hair fell out... Monday I took my usual trip to the auctions, I needed to get some sleep before my first nightshift so I had a wander round and left bids on three lots... When I woke up and checked the phone I'd won two out of three lots. Monday night was spent thinking about how much I'd make listing my bits n bobs on ebay. After a few hours sleep I went back to the auction house and picked them up. When I got home I had a look at the possible crap I'd used my kids inhertiance on. I got all excited when I realised that the above picture (I'm not even going to name it incase blogger do the same and delete our page!) was part of an 18 weekly set and I had all 18 in near mint condition. A quick google and I knew I was sitting on about 5 hours of tattooing! I spent ages scanning the images and researching the magazine. It turns out that they were printed in 1939 just before WWII broke out. When war started they continued printing the set but changed the cover colours to red and black, the happy yellow colour was dropped. Most copies of the above were translated in a way that made him look worse, this one was done word for word. Now agree with what he said or not(and I don't) but it is a piece of world history.
Donna got home from work at 5.24 and I asked if she could give me the worlds quickest hair cut so I could shower before leaving for work. Just before she got in I'd uploaded the item to ebay. Shower done and I refreshed the selling page on ebay... Selling items 0... Refresh again. Still zero. Bastards had removed it. Now if you were to search ebay for the above item without the authors name loads of copies come up( but not in magazine form from 1939)... Do I relist without the authors name and risk loosing my ebay account? Or put them in the loft and hate ebay for ever?
Anyway after my haircut I sent Ben a photo, he says I look like I belong in a high security prison for pyscho's. Bring on the bushy beard and bald heeeeeed.
